I asked my son who is an Electrician if lamps and other electrical
appliances use electricity when not in use. He said anything that has a
clock that runs or has a light that stays lit when off uses a little bit
of electricity, but not much. He said lamps or anything else that does
not have a light or clock does NOT use any electricity when not on. The
electricity has nowhere to go, so it isn’t drawn from the outlet.
I thought you all might want to know this.
