      Verizon is totally WRONG. If you request to have your long distance removed
      then they have to do it. I went through the same thing with AT&T. I called my
      local service company and told them I wanted to cancel all long distance and
      they took AT&T off my phone. Send Verizon a certified letter stating you will
      no longer accept them as a long distance carrier and will no longer honor any
      bills sent to you. Kim in MI
