Levels of Registration

We have several different levels of registration here in the forums.As a Guest (non-registered Visitor) you can view most of the forums, threads and posts. You will see additional banner advertisements at the top, bottom and side of each page.

As a Registered Member, you can view all of the forums, threads and posts, including a couple private forums for higher ranking members. You will also notice that some of the ads that were located at the bottom of each page have suddenly disappeared.

Ground Level Lurkers – registered members with very few posts have limited access to features & are unable to send Private messages. (This is for :spam: prevention) . This also helps prevent new members from feeling overwhelmed with features and gives you a chance to get a feel for how the site works and where things are located.

1. Ability to use the Downloads Area of the Site for free printable toppers, menu plans, workouts/fitness, gag gift tags and more.

Registered Members with more than 5 Posts – are considered to be Active Members and are granted additional abilities as they reach higher post counts.

Some of these features include:

1. Ability to PM other Users
2. Additional Private Message Space
3. Additional Photograph space and increase in photo size
4. Access to Albums Feature
5. Access to Custom Usergroups
6. Email Features such as email a friend
7. Additional Posting/editing Features
8. Additional Calendar Features
9. Increase in Signature features
10. Ability to Dismiss Persistent Notices
11. Automatic Twitter Updates on your Profile Page
12. Coupon Wishlist under your Username
13. Ability to Create Social Groups
14. Ability to Tag others threads
15. Fewer Ads visible- as a sign of our appreciation to your valuable contributions to the site, we’ve removed more ads from your view.
16. Full Access to our Downloads area for free printables- tags, toppers,gag gifts,craft directions, etc

Members with 25+ Posts:Our Referral board becomes available (for sharing points, winzy, , blinko, etc).
The above listed features increase again and another ad disappears!

Members with 50+ Posts:
The Coupon Swap board becomes available (for swapping items, coupons, etc)
The above listed features increase again.

The only forum where posting is disabled for newbies is the referral forum, which (currently) requires a minimum of 25 posts. All other forums are open for posting, but to prevent spam & help people gain confidence in posting in the correct forums, all new members are briefly moderated.

Katie, this site is quite addicting so spending hours on the site is a possibility. What I did when I first joined was went to the forums (home) page. Looked through the different forums and descriptions and just decided from there.

Of course my very first stop was the freebie forum and then I moved on to the next one that looked like it may contain information that would be helpful to me. It really depends on what you are looking for as to where you would start. If you are looking for budgeting tips, I would try the general finance forum.

If you are looking for ways to save money (although the entire site has all kinds of tips for this) you may want to try tips and tricks. If you need to cut your grocery bill but cant come up with food ideas the dirt cheap recipes are a good place to start. Hope this helps:bounce:

I think it was just a glitch, it appears that you’ve been bumped up a level overnight. Generally the system checks every few hours, the promotes users to the next level automatically as they meet the criteria.

ok I see what you are saying, it is confusing you because it says the number of posts you have made is 11(was7) but it says you have received thanks in 13 posts.

The number of posts you have made updates every so often, I’m not sure if the thanks you received updates automatically or every so often. But that would be an explanation for the difference.

Liss can you help with this? I’m not sure about the difference myself now that I think about it.

**UPDATE** Ok I re-read the thread again and after reading md’s post I get what the issue was, The system calculated your posts, but your post count didn’t reflect the actual number of posts you made because you were still in moderated status.

Found this site through Pintrest and am glad to being able to join the group. I just turned 66 so hoping I’m not to young to be apart of this group, LOL I am a retired chef/food-service mgr. I have a love of cooking and love to share what little I know with others.

I find that the best part of cooking is the sharing of ideas with others. From what little I have seen on this site so far I can tell there are lots of people out there that share my same love of food and of people. I look forward to making many new friends and sharing in ideas to boot.

Thank you for being so personal. I like the levels ppl have to obtain by participation. I feel safer osting things this way.

So far what I have browsed around, I love. Immediately I saw something I bookmarked it as it was an issue many fiancee and I had while making head in our bread maker. Isee a lot so far that I could utilize to help save money as I am in the process of trying to plan a wedding then today my car went into the shop for the computer and my stove was red tagged for a gas leak.

So….I can use all the frugal ideas I can find. So glad I found y’all.

Just a wee question. How often are posts read and monitored? I don’t mind any monitoring, but thought perhaps there was a time of day it was better to post. ( I’m up and down all night and often if I can’t sleep will pop in and sit at the computer for an hour or so till my breathing gets better.) Right now here is the yucky season, snow going, mud all over, and then just when you think it’s going to get sunny it rains and snows again!

It’s in there right now, are you by chance using Internet Explorer? It has a tendency to erase things, remove things, reload cached pages, etc if you aren’t using the “remember me” setting.

I agree, there is certainly a lot to take in here on the site.

I found about 10,000 mix recipes I think, lol. I’ve never seen so many different subjects and so much info in 1 place, but it’s really well organized and pretty easy to sort through. I like the section navigation links at the top of the page, that helps ALOT!

Um, no, that should have any affect at all. What is the link to the page you were unable to access? Chances are, if it was the weekly menu/budget page it was on GroceryBudget101.com which is a different site altogether.

I know, it would be great if other sites would follow suit, I’ve given up a few forums that I enjoyed due to losers that constantly slipped through.

There really are very few rules here actually, the levels are more like rewards for those that participate and are active.

I love this system, it really weeds out the losers/spammers/ porn posters and trolls.:eatpopcorn:

In the beginning Liss was far too lenient but after several years of dealing with @sshats, she really tightened ship and strung the fools out to dry.

It’s quite refreshing knowing that you can spend time on a forum without being bombarded with trolls, they have a tendency to get nipped in the bud right off the bat.

As a Guest (non-registered Visitor) you can view most of the forums, threads and posts. You will see additional banner advertisements at the top, bottom and side of each page.

As a Registered Member, you can view all of the forums, threads and posts, including a couple private forums for higher ranking members. You will also notice that some of the ads that were located at the bottom of each page have suddenly disappeared.

Ground Level Lurkers – registered members with very few posts have limited access to features & are unable to send Private messages. (This is for :spam: prevention) . This also helps prevent new members from feeling overwhelmed with features and gives you a chance to get a feel for how the site works and where things are located.

Registered Members with more than 5 Posts – are considered to be Active Members and are granted additional abilities as they reach higher post counts.

I having fun with the myo section, i’ve made the myo pwd detergent and dish washer cubes. both were environmentally friendly, economical to make and worked great. the younger members of the family require hypoallergenic soaps and detergents and these work very nicely.
