I can tell you that you’d be better off steering away from tourist “hot spots”, because you’ll find the cost of every day items is higher due to tourists.
Maybe find a city outside of Myrtle Beach? I know the weather in some area’s of nc (specifically where my fil lives) isn’t that bad (compared to where i live in mi). they rarely get more than an inch of snow at any time, and even then, it melts quickly.
it’s much colder than florida, but not like michigan, or even jersey.
i’d think south carolina would be even warmer than north carolina.
the closer you are to the coast, though, the colder it will get because of the water & lake effect weather. or, rather, ocean effect in this case.
