This is a super easy, dirt cheap gift idea for an entire family.
1 package white or chocolate Almond Bark
1 package generic Oreos, Nutter Butters, or other cookies (can be homemade sugar cookies, chocolate chip, gingerbread cookies, etc)
sprinkles or crushed candy canes
waxed paper or parchment paperMelt almond bark carefully in microwave. When hot, carefully dip cookies, one at a time, into almond bark, covering half of cookie. Place on waxed paper and shake on sprinkles. Repeat for all cookies.Flavor Ideas:
white almond bark with Oreoschocolate almond bark with Nutter Butters.
Chocolate almond bark with any cookie, rolled in crushed candy canesYou can get covered holiday tins/containers at walmart for $1. Total cost for a nice Useful family gift $5.Alternatively, if you want to use common items you have on hand you can make your own chocolate dip using
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
3 T. Solid Shortening (Crisco!) or 1/4 cake wax (some folks dont like using this, so if you’re one of them, opt for the crisco).
1 oz square unsweetened bakers chocolateMelt all in a double boiler over low heat. - November 11, 2012 at 1:40 am #434694Eshuman
