The recalls only apply to the industrial peanut butter, what they use for schools, colleges, packaged items such as the cookies, crackers, anything made with peanut butter in a factory setting. A little advice if you purchase from a food pantry before you take any peanut butter find out what kind it is sometimes they get the large ones donated in and then put them into smaller containers. The recall is also applying to pet foods and snacks.

We are fans of PB but only eat in on english muffins or bagels. Glad we bought a couple jars a few months ago (JIF). It is save (tried it a few times over the last months, at least we are not sick so far). But we will savor what we have and not buy anymore until this issue has been cleaned up. I guess we will only eat Choc Chip cookies, not PB for awhile.

I mentioned that it was just for the industrial peanut butter and such that was used but Arron decided to throw out items from the pantry…..he said he wasnt taking any chances … I agree…you never know..they may later change and add what they are recalling …right?

:103:You mean there are other brands besides Jif? :103:
Little fact about Jif It has longer shelf life than others because it has a higher sugar content. Up to five years, unopened,if kept in cool and dark storage. Least that’s what I was told on another forum.
