I’m Sarai… mom to 4…. I started a garden last spring and I’ve lost it….. now we have a budget and I’m turning into a very anti-consumer….. so budget and do it yourself is AWESOME!!! I can’t wait to get involved…. my mom has been sending me links from your site for forever and I’ve finally joined the community 🙂

Good for you, dear. With 4 children, every penny saved is to the good. Unfortunately, here in Canada it has to be nickels now because we don’t have pennies anymore LOL
I am hoping to get in to gardening next year too. I have a disability so I’m going to try raised gardening. I saw a site where you can actually buy the bags of soil cut the top off and plant right in to it. It will stand if placed properly. For items with smaller shorter roots you can just pierce the side of the bag and with it lying on the ground you plant your seeds or seedlings right in it. I’m excited about trying this method. I sure hope it works. This could work even if you live in an apartment with a balcony that gets plenty of sunlight.
