I make ours with cake mix — 1/2 the made up cake mix, in 2 separate
pans. Bake as usual, only for a shorter time. (I usually use a 13×9
inch pan, but have used 4, 9-inch round pans too) Once baked, I turn
the cakes out. . put one layer on serving dish, spread slightly
softened ice cream over it, then top with another layer. AS far as
icing. . . I either thin down regular icing and spread, or simply
spread Cool Whip on it.
