Here are recipes from the book “Nourishing Traditions”. If there was some reason I couldn’t breastfeed, this is definantly what I would use. Your baby is worth it. The first food that it eats will effect it the rest of it’s life.
Milk-Based Formula
2 cups organic, certified clean raw milk, preferably from pasture-fed Jersey or Guernsey cows
1/4 cup homeade liquid whey
4Tbsp. lactose
1/4 tsp. bifodobacterium infantis
2 Tbsp. good quality cream
1/2 tsp. high vitamin or 1 tsp regular cod liver oil
1 tsp. unrefined sunflowr oil
1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp. cocnut oil
2 tsp. nutritional yeast
2 tsp. gelatin
1 7/8 cups filtered water
1/4 tsp acerola powder
Add gelatin to water and heat gently until gelatin is dissolved. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Transfer to a very clean glass or stainless steel container and mix well
To serve: pour 6-8 oz. into a very clean glass bottle, attach nipple and set in a pan of simmering water. Heat until warm but not hot to the touch.shake bottle well and feed baby. NEVER, NEVER heat formula in a microwave.
The book has the sources from some of the odder looking ingredients.
Hope this helps!
