My 2 sons were raised on the canned milk formula because 30-40 yrs
ago there wasn’t much else. When I brought my son home in ’68, he
was crying as I was heating his bottle – being 18 yrs old, really
tired, middle of the night, not thinking – I took him in the cold
bottle – stuck it in his mouth and said “See, its not warm yet” (like
I really thought a baby would understand). He started drinking it
and drank more than usual. Next morning, I heated it and he would
only drink a little. gave him the next feeding cold and he drank it
down. I called the Dr and he said if he’ll drink it cold – go ahead –
he’ll never get colic.
Not positive that was the reason but I fed the next son cold formula
too and both did well and never had colic. ONE big problem – they
wouldn’t touch warm food until they were about 3 years old!! It had
to be room temp or colder. KarenMO
