Re: Budget101.com : My wedding and question

You could try putting a square of a mirror down on the table (turn it so it’s
like a diamond on the table, not going the same way as the edges of the
table–does that make sense?). There are lots of things you can put on top, but
here are a few I’ve seen: put a small fishbowl with a live fish in the middle
of the mirror, put a small fishbowl with red/white flowers floating on the water
in the middle, put small votive candles in cheapo glass votive holders on 2
edges. The mirror makes a really nice effect & when there’s [clear] glass,
water, or flames above it, they reflect off the mirror & make it even prettier.
I personally used the mirror squares (they should be approx.

      12″ square) & put a
smallish flower arrangement in the middle with votives in 2 corners. We didn’t
tie ribbons around the flower arrangements, just left it draped over the mirror
& it was really pretty–had a neat effect. It was sort of silvery ribbon b/c my
      colors were blue & silver.

      We also didn’t use the
same exact flower arrangement on each table. We’d purchased an assortment of
small silk arrangements on sale after Christmas–all had white roses with silver
accents & the base was silvery, but they weren’t all the same shape or whatever.
      It made it more interesting.
