Last year for her birthday my daughter got a small ice-cream maker and here
are the basic recipes that were included with the “toy”. Before making the
ice-cream put the container for the ice-cream in the freezer overnight to
      prepare it.

      Vanilla Ice Cream
      1 1/2 c. half ‘n’ half or single cream
      1/2 c. fresh milk
      1 c. sugar
      1/8 tsp vanilla extract

      Chocolate Ice Cream
      1 1/2 c. half ‘n’ half or single cream
      1/2 c. fresh milk
      1 c. sugar
      1/8 c. chocolate syrup
      1/8 tsp vanilla extract

      Strawberry Ice Cream
      1 1/2 c. half ‘n’ half or single cream
      1/2 c. fresh milk
      1 c. sugar
4 tsp of crushed or frozen strawberries
      1/8 tsp vanilla extract

After you have picked a flavor and have the ingredients completely mix all
of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Once it is mixed pour into a freezer
container and place in the freezer until firm.

You can do the typical substitutions for the half ‘n’ half or single cream
but if you do the substitution that is butter and milk you will want to whip
the ice-cream before you eat it, I learned the hard way but I would guess
that if you mix it just right the butter won’t separate when frozen.

I guess I need to make some tomorrow since we ran out of store bought
      tonight.

      Susan
