I quit smoking and would like to have one of those cool tickers that show how much money I have saved and how many cigarettes I have not smoked since I quit. How do I do that? :017:

Yea Reesie271! Save money and save your life! Glad you were able to quit smoking!

I hope someone knows something about the ticker thing!

Good for you! I am still working on it. I got my ticker from the American Lung Assn.

I received it when I went to a Freedom from Smoking classes.

Congrats to you on quiting smoking!!! Remember, for every cigarette you don’t smoke, you add 5 minutes to your life! Amazing isn’t it!

Also, by quiting smoking you decrease you likelihood of heart attack by almost 75%!!! 🙂

Congratulations! :great: That is a big accomplishment. I’m still working on it.

Who can afford to smoke anymore??

I sat down with my husband last week and figured out that between the both of us smoking as much as we did and the price going to $6.00 per pack here we were burning up the equivalent amount that we pay in rent each month plus a little! And I was wondering where the heck all my money was going!!! 😯

Cigarettes here in New York State are now ranging from $7 and change to $10 a pack! I finally quit on February 9, 2008, after a painful process of trying again and again. Chantix helped me enormously, but when my doctor told me he wasn’t going to renew it again–and that the next battle with cancer would be tougher than what I’ve already survived–that helped.

The other challenge was in my recognizing that I was smoking to deny ongoing respiratory problems I had. (I had asthma and bronchitis. Now I also have COPD.) Once I understood my effort to deny the health issues, I was able to reject the excuses and stay on my path.

Thankfully, my doctors saved my life so I was able to have a second chance at living!

Keep going, Reesie! If I can help in any way without nagging, feel free to reach out to me.

Congratulations! I quit smoking with my husband in January 2009. I have a quit counter.

Here is a link for another one. Xarka Software – Freeware Section it is the first one called Quit Counter. I have a lot of fun with it.

Hope – Free and Healing for Three Months, Five Days, 12 Hours and 22 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 5 Days and 23 Hours, by avoiding the use of 1719 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $267.54.

Thanks for this tip, Hope! I didn’t know these things were out there!

I just found one called “Quit Smoking Counter” that you can do completely online. Talk about stunning! I’ve saved over $3000 in the 14 months since I quit–and have extended my life by more than 11 weeks!

      It’s a great incentive!
