Everyone will tell you something different, so after
reading what works for them – try to pick apart what
you think will work for you, and make a plan. Some feel that the best thing to do is menu plan – so
that you are only buying what you absolutely need
while at the store. That is where I go wrong. Ifocus so much on making sure I get the best deal on
the things that are on sale (store sale, store
discounts, coupons, etc.) that I forget about makingsure that I have enough in the house to make meals. I
can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the store,
spent $80-$100 on groceries and then came home saying,“Now what on earth do we have in this house for
dinner?”…..
Anyhoo, these are the main things that I do….1. I cut out coupons for any items that my family
uses or would use if it wasn’t so darn expensive.
2. I go through the weekly grocery store circularsand mark up what’s on sale – especially keeping in
mind things that I have coupons for. I almost never
buy anything that’s not on sale.3. I buy certain things at BJ’s Wholesale that are
substantially cheaper there than at the grocery store.
This is not always the case, though. There are MANYthings that I can get at Shoprite MUCH cheaper than at
BJ’s. BUT, my daughter lives on those Pizza Bagel
Bites – and I have never found them to be any cheaperthan a 72 pack for $9.50 at BJ’s.
My next goal is to start making homemade detergents
and cleaning products.— Robyn Jarrell <robyn.jarrell@yahoo.com> wrote:
