How to make carpet look like new

I had a navy blue carpet put in quiet a few years ago. It had a high

pile to it and I thought it looked better with a high pile than a low

pile even though the carpet salesman tried to tell me I would be better

with a low pile as high pile flatted easier I still brought the high

pile. My question is how can I make the carpet look better where is

flatted and you can really see the high traffic areas. Also; the carpet

collects everything. I have to vaccumm every day to get the lint, etc.

up. Is there anything that I can get to put on it so I don’t ahve to

vaccumm every day? I don’t have the money to buy new carpet so I would

appreciate any tips anyone can give me.
