If you live in the South in the sweltering summer heat you’d do just about anything to cool off. Including using a few hay bales to make your own Awesome swimming pool.
The pool takes about an hour to put together, stack the hay bales 2 high all the way around on a flat area of ground. Be sure to rake out and rocks. If you want to add some padding you can spread some hay loosely on the ground in the pool frame, or you could use pine shavings instead.
Then line the “pool” with a heavy duty tarp and secure the tarp with straps or rope. Then fill. Keep in mind that hay can be sharp and may poke through the tarp, so be prepared to patch a few spots here and there, but all in all, it’s simple, quick and cheap and you can still feed your animals the hay when you’re done enjoying your pool.
