How do you remove marker marks from furniture?

  my son recently marked all over my dining room table with a crayola marker,
  unfortunately it wasn’t the washable ones!!! It’s an antique table and some of
  the varnish(shelack) is peeling away, so it has some very small parts where the
  wood is exposed. But anyway, how would I go about trying to remove the marks?
