BiggerPiggyBank
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 TBSP butter (or margarine if you prefer, I like and only use the butter)
1 tsp vanilla or maple extractBoil water, sugar and butter until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted.
Add extract. Serve.I use maple extract from Watkins in mine, but I suppose you can purchase the
extract from somewhere else. I didn’t like it with just the vanilla so well.
But, if you were to add fruit, I can see using vanilla instead of the maple so
you get more of the fruit flavor than the maple flavor.I am currently doing an experiment to see if you can freeze the leftovers
successfully. I’ll let you know how they turn out.Sue Rosseau was the one who posted that she has made this syrup and that
she… “One time I made blueberry syrup by adding blueberries to the sugar and
water. Everyone liked it.”
