This is the recipe I use.

      Laundry Soap

1/2 bar of Octagon (all purpose soap, sold in with laundry soaps)
1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
1/2 cup washing soda (I have used baking soda and it works good too)
      2 gal. hot water

Put the 1/2 bar of soap in 1 gal. of the hot water (I shave mine so it dissolves better) let it set overnight. If needed squeeze it with your hands to get it mixed good.

Then add the other gal. of hot water and the washing soda and Borax let it sit over night again. Stir before using.

Use 1/2 a cup for a large load and you can use a little more if clothes are extra dirty.

Subject: Budget101.com : Homemade Laundry Soap Recipes Anyone?

With a large family washing clothes seems to happen more around my
      house than eating. 🙂

Anyone have home made laundry soap recipes that remove stains and are
safe for colored clothes. Smelling good wouldnt hurt either.

      Thank you in advance.
