If it is a/d, then it is Prescription Diet, also made by Hill’s, and
it is by prescription from a vet and sold in vet’s offices. If a
pet store is selling it without a script, then they shouldn’t be.
The best food I ever gave my cats was Artemis cat food, sold in some
stores. I would do a search for Artemis Cat Food, and see if a
store is nearby. We used it in CA and now the nearest store to sell
it is almost 3 hours away from where we live now.
You can also do a search for Homemade cat food. There might be
recipes there as well. I would stay away from Chicken Soup for the
Cat Lover’s sould Food. I can’t prove it, but after being on that
food for 8 months, 3 of my cats developed crystals in the urnine and
now have to be on Prescription Diet c/d for life at a cost of $50.00
for a 20 pound bag. OUCH!!

> I don’t have a home made diet, but Science Diet makes a product
that is very high in calories that I believe is called a/d….it
comes in a flat tuna sized can and most large pet stores/vet offices
