How to Make Homemade Blackberry BBQ Sauce

      Ingredients:
      1 large onion, finely chopped
4 cloves of garlic, roasted and mashed
1 chili pepper, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
      2 cups fresh blackberries
      1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup honey (adjust to desired sweetness)
      1 teaspoon smoked paprika
      1/2 teaspoon cumin
      Salt and pepper to taste

      Instructions:

      1. In a pan, heat some oil over medium heat and add the chopped onions. Cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally.
      2. Add the roasted and mashed garlic, chopped chili pepper, blackberries, apple cider vinegar, honey, smoked paprika, and cumin to the pan. Stir to combine.
      3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes until the blackberries break down and become soft.
      4. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
      5. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. If desired, you can strain the sauce to remove any seeds or pulp.
      6. Return the sauce to the pan and simmer for another 5 minutes to thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
      7. Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to a jar or bottle for storage.
      8. Use the Blackberry BBQ Sauce as a glaze or marinade for grilled meats or vegetables. Enjoy!
      9. Feel free to adjust the quantities and seasonings according to your taste preferences. Happy cooking and Happy Father’s Day!
