The best treatment, and the only one that worked for my daughter is this:
first, use mayonnaise (or mayo) on the hair. Get it really saturated, and then leave on the hair about 30 minutes. You could probley go less on the time, but this is what we use. Then wash out the mayo, shampoo will take it out. When everything is washed out, have the child lean their head back into the sink or bath and pour vinegar all over the hair. Comb through the hair and leave on 30 minutes.
Then shampoo and condition as usual. The mayo kills the lice, and the vinegar eats the stuff that makes the eggs stick to your hair.
This was the only thing that worked for us. We used EVERYTHING on the market to get rid of it to no avail. As far as bedding spray, we used Lysol.
I sprayed some live lice with it that I had gotten out the hair before treatment, and it killed them. So I saturated everything in the house with it. Cheaper than the other sprays out there!
Hope this helps!
