Re: Herbal and aintibiotics question — long response
if you are concerned with a weakened immune system, my books suggest
the following helpful supplements:
acidophilus — as directed on label…restores important bacteria to
the intestinal tract
coenzyme Q-10 — 100 mg daily…increases resistance to infectious
organisms
garlic capsules — 2 capsules 3 times daily…ordorless garlic that
stimulates the immune system
germanium — 200 mg daily…improves oxygen and promotes interferon
production
kelp — 8 tablets daily…a balanced mineral food, needed for immune
system integrity, use it instead of salt
l-cysteine — 500 mg each, take twice daily…destroys free radicals
and viruses, protects the glands, especially the liver
vitamin B-6 — 50 mg 3 times daily…this potentiates l-cysteine
(above)
lecithin — as directed on label…coats the cells and aids in their
protection
multivitamin and mineral complex — as directed on label…essential
for healing and defense
protein, free-form amino acids — as directed on label…readily
assimilated by the body since already ‘broken down’
there are several other suggestions, but I think those are for the
serious health nut (some might be a bit squeamish)!lol!
pau d’arco tea has an antibiotic effect. and it is recommended to
begin a diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains, and
other foods that are high in fiber, avoiding processed foods, sugar,
and soda.
as liss says…i’m not a doctor, just a collector of information and
hope i’ve given you some things to consider. the supplements listed
can be found in health food stores.
