Social Security looks at each diagnosis and then makes determination based on the person’s “workability”. For example, the person has to not be able to work at least 12 months in any capacity for full disabillity coverage to be approved. It all depends on the diagnosis.
The folks who get turned down are usually ones where the diagnosis is not clearly indicated that the person cannot return to work within 12 months.
Not true. My DH was disabled in an accident and is also
bi-polar. We were approved in 30 days.
