Help Needed with Toaster

Hi all!

Hoping someone out there can help. I bought a Black &
Decker VersaToast toaster from Good Will a few months ago. It’s not
working properly but I’m hoping to figure out what’s wrong rather
than just junking it. When you hold down the plunger, the elements come on and
it heats up. The only problem is that the toast doesn’t stay down. As
soon as you let it go, it pops back up. Any ideas as to what might be wrong
with it?
