      Great-Grandmother’s Stuffing
      10 slices oatmeal bread, dried overnight, then cubed
      2 Winesap or Haralson apples, peeled and chopped
      1 onion, chopped
      1 cup raisins
      1/2 tsp salt
      1/4 tsp pepper
      2 eggs, beaten
      1/4 cup butter, melted
      1/3 cup cold water
      Combine the dried bread, chopped apples, onion, raisins, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and toss with hands to mix thoroughly.
      Combine the beaten eggs, melted butter, and cold water in a small bowl and mix well. Then, drizzle this mixture over the dressing in the bowl, tossing with a fork or hands to combine. to combine. Use the dressing to stuff a 12 to 14 pound turkey.
      Or place this stuffing in a casserole dish, drizzle with some chicken or turkey broth, cover, and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
      Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer until the top is crisp. Or put the dressing into a 4 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours or until the dressing registers at least 160°. Serves 8
