If you want to make a really cool stepping stone (or series of stepping stones!)
You’ll need a Rubber door mat- you can get these at the dollar store, dollar general, etc. Make sure it’s rubber or you’ll have a hard time removing it once the stone sets.
You will also need a small piece of metal frame, such as a piece of garden fencing, this is for stability.
Make a small wooden frame about 1.5″ thick, line it with thick plastic sheeting (for easy removal!) Pour some prepared concrete/quikrete into the frame, smooth it, add the metal piece/section for stability, then add more concrete to the top of the frame.
Smooth it with a trowel. Then place the rubber mat into the wet concrete. Let it set for 2 days, pull off the rubber and mat and now you have a textured stepping stone for the garden or pathway!
The rubber door mats come in the following sizes:
The metal doesn’t have to be anything special, you can use a piece of cattle fencing (like what is pictured here) or you can use hardware cloth.

Summer is coming! Do you want to add a sweet touch to your garden with some handmade garden crafts? Stepping stones are essential to the garden because they are not only functional so that you won’t step on the grass but also can be used to decorate your garden.
