      The next time you fill up, note the odometer reading. Fill up the tank

      to full — don’t just put $10 in or fill it partially.

      Then, the following time you fill up, note the odometer reading again.

      Fill the tank full again and note how many gallons it took. Subtract

      your miles driven and then divide that number by the number of gallons

      you put in. That gives you your miles per gallon.
