Our situation is different in that my DH is a journeyman wireman. The union hall can send him about anywhere to work, and where he is happens to be out of our “local”, otherwise we could take some of the fuel expense off on our income tax. It has been steady work and we haven’t wanted to uproot the kids from school, but now we have 1 in college and the other is finishing up his sophomore year of high school, so who knows what we will do after he graduates??

I did the same thing for about a year and was spending $55.00 a week, but thats why I moved closer to work. I pay more for rent, but the difference I am spending on gas more then makes up for it.
