My Bf and I live in a circa 1920’s house with no insulation in the

floor, most windows were replaced and I weatherized those that were

not. We put vent covers all the way around the foundation to limit cold

air blowing in and under and I weatherized our front and back door but

there is still a huge difference in heat from the height of the

thermostat and the floor. I was never a sock or slipper wearer before I

moved here. My question is would it be cheaper to just turn the gas

heat up or should we/could we invest in one of these oil fin heaters.

They are currently on ad at Walmart for $34. Cost effective, which one

is best, supplement with this radiant heat heater during the day in my

living room(where I and my pets spend the most time) or just turn the

      gas up?
