When I got married, my sister in law made a wonder item for us. It was

a homemade bird bath that was beautiful. it consisted of a terra cotta

clay pot and a terra cotta dish. She used caulking and turned the

planter upside down and caulked the bigger dish (which I think was a

drain plate for a larger pot) to it. she painted it and we used it for

a bird bath type thing for years, until it naturally broke down, b/c it

was not treated.
