My daughter’s 1st birthday is on Aug. 24th, and I’m starting to
think about how to celebrate. I’ll have a small party with some
family and friends, and am planning for it to be in my mom’s
backyard (weather permitting).
There will mostly be adults, but the
guest kids will be 19 months, 20 months, 4 years, and 6 years at the
time. Any ideas for decorations, games, favors, and food that’s
frugal and not too time-consuming to prepare? I want people to have
fun, but not make it too overwhelming for my baby.
Also, I’m interested to hear about any birthday traditions you have
started with your children. I read a suggestion in a book to start
one or more traditions with the very first birthday. The child won’t
understand until later, but when they’re 5 years old, they can say
they’ve been doing such-and-such their “whole life”.
I am in the
middle of a divorce, and am wondering how to make family history
when the family will just be the two of us. I want to make things
special for her, even though I won’t have alot of money.
Thanks for any suggestions.
