      >>I’m interested to hear about any birthday traditions you have
started with your children. I read a suggestion in a book to start
one or more traditions with the very first birthday. The child won’t
understand until later, but when they’re 5 years old, they can say
they’ve been doing such-and-such their “whole life”.

<< Suzanne, every birthday of both my girl’s lives they have woken up to find
Mylar Birthday Balloons in their rooms . One for every year. My oldest is up
      to 8!

I’ll tell you what….their is nothing more precious than seeing a one
year old waking up to finda shiny balloon tied the crib (very short ribbon of
course!) They don’t know what is going on, but they sure realize that it is an
      out-of-the-ordinary day! lol!

i also take a video tape and picture first thing in the morning on their
birthday. those sleepy tousled hair photos are precious to me.

and, of course, wherever possible …. cake for breakfast! even if its a
      cupcake!

      he-he!

enjoy your daughter’s birthdays. remember…you did all the hard work and
      should pamper yourself too!
