      Yes you need to put water with citric acid in the bags. Sugar is optional. You can add the sugar to the water making a syrup or leave the sugar out.

      The citric acid( fruit fresh or lemon juice)is not optional . Without citric acid the peaches will turn black when you thaw them out.
