This is one of those things you hope you never need… but if you do, you’ll be SO glad you have it.

We made one after a scare at a crowded fair (my heart still races thinking about it 😬). It doesn’t have to be fancy—just smart.

Here’s what we keep in ours:
📸 A recent photo (updated every 6 months)
🖐️ Fingerprints (you can even DIY with an ink pad)
📏 Height/weight + identifying marks
👕 A quick note of what they were last wearing
📱 Emergency contacts
🧬 DNA sample (a sealed strand of hair or cheek swab)

I also started snapping a quick pic of my kid before we go anywhere busy—zoo, airport, festivals. Takes 2 seconds and could save HOURS if something ever happened.

💡 Pro tip: Keep a digital copy on your phone AND a printed one in your bag or car.

It’s one of those “quiet peace of mind” things… like a fire extinguisher—you hope it collects dust, but you’re relieved it’s there.
