This sounds absolutely sinful. Now I know what to do with the ends of
the bread. I usually just toss then or give to the dogs. I guess I
could make breadcrumbs but this sounds so much better.

save up all of the ends of the bread loaves, the pices that got
mushed, and stick them in the freezer. When I have enough, I break
it into pieces, put them into 9×13 pan. I take some eggs, crack them
and mix them into a bowl with a little milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and
sugar. Pour over the bread. Let sit in the fridge overnight, (I
just do a few hours) Just before baking, pour some melted butter
over (gives a nice top crust) little more sugar and cinnamon, and I
bake for about an hour at 350.
