I usually lump oil change and wiper blades under the “car”. Also
tags, insurance for the car are there, too. I usually do the
personal property tax from the “car” money, too, since that is the
only thing I pay on, and it’s under $5 every year. I have $40 going
into that section of my ledger every week and it’s getting to be a
nice total since I have not had car problems in quite a while, only a
sudden unexpected tire purchase last week. That’s the good thing
about having this money set aside in a different ledger but in the
checking account. I didn’t have to do anything other than hand over
my debit card to pay for the tire and mounting.
