We live in a 3000 sqft old farmhouse. We did do a LOT of insulating and replacement windows but like any old house still can be chilly. We keep our thermostat between 61 and 63. We use a pot (or 2 sometimes) of water on the stove simmering and then just wear sweats, sweaters, etc. that we have anyway. We also have dogs that we bring in every night and that does help to make the house warmer just from their heat.
