I have a delayed start on my dishwasher to delay up to 7 hours. In AZ,
we have “off-peak hours”. We heat the water heater only during those
hours, the heating in winter, and I do laundry, dishwasher, etc.

those hours. The price is one half that of regular peak. It saves a
lot.
