To serve more than one, multiply the ingredients by the number of people.

      1 slice white bread
1 teaspoon butter or margarine, softened
      1 large egg

Place bread on the cutting board and butter both sides of your bread–with a half teaspoon of butter. Then cut a round hole in the center of the slice of bread (size of a half dollar or use a shot glass) to cut a hole in the center of the slice of bread. Save the center for dipping in yolk later.

Have the frying pan heated slightly with the other half teaspoon of butter melted in it. Lay your bread in the fry pan, then crack one egg into the hole. Let fry on medium to low heat–to a golden brown on one side then flip to the other side–fry again to a golden brown.

Ready to serve–this is a really quick breakfast.

A friend of mine eats this all the time. I’ve never tried it. Maybe I will fix this in the morning and see what my family thinks.
