Cone-ucopia Place Cards
These cute place cards are not only quick and easy to make, they serve double duty as a light snack before dinner. We chose to use healthy “harvest” ingredients, but any small pieces of fruit, candy, nuts, seeds, or other favorite foods can be placed in your cone-ucopias. To recreate our cone-ucopias, use cashews, pistachios, pepitas (raw pumpkin seeds), sunflower seeds, roasted squash seeds, dried apricots, dried cranberries, and golden raisins.
Supplies:
scissors
white paper
pens in assorted colosrs to match your table settings
1 sugar ice cream cone per person
1 small plate per person
1/3 cup assorted nuts, seeds, and dried fruit per person
Instructions:
Cut out long thin strips of paper (we used a strip of paper 8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide) for each person. Curl the ends of each strip of paper against a scissor blade, making sure to leave ample room in the middle of the strip for the name of each person. Write the name of each guest on a piece of paper, and set aside to dry.
Place a sugar cone on the plate, and loosely fill with nuts, seeds, and fruits. Place on the plate and let the contents slightly spill out onto the plate. Tuck the names into each cone and place on the table where each person is supposed to sit.
