These steak cheese cheese steak quesedillas are simple to make and you only need 1 pound of beef for the whole family. If you don’t have sirloin, you can flatten ground beef thinly, cut it into strips and cook it in a pan as strips, just sprinkle the seasoning on instead of putting it in a bag to coat it.
Steak Cheese Steak Quesadillas
1 (1 pound) beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
2 small onions, sliced
2 green bell peppers, sliced
2 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, divided
1 teaspoon McCormick Montreal Steak Grill Mates Seasoning
1 teaspoon pepper, divided
16 slices provolone cheese
4 large flour tortillasDIRECTIONS:
For the steak
Measure 1 teaspoon season salt, steak seasoning, and ½ teaspoon pepper in a ziplock bag, shake to combine, then add the steak slices.
Mix until the seasoning has evenly coated the steak.Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear sliced steak in batches for 1 to 2 minutes per side without overcrowding the pan. If you need to, add 1 tablespoon of oil if the pan gets to dry.Remove steak from pan and set it aside. Heat a tablespoon oil over medium heat in same skillet. Toss in sliced onion and bell pepper. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon season salt and ½ teaspoon pepper. Saute veggies for 5 minutes or until tender and caramelized, stirring frequently.
Assemble the quesadillas. Heat the skillet on medium-high, spray with non-stick spray, put the tortilla in, layer it with cheese, then steak and peppers. Once the cheese melts fold the tortilla in half and cut into wedges. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
