Here’s a Great dessert for Potlucks, gatherings, tailgating, etc- It’s a simple way to turn a plain brownie into a giant pan of Mounds bar Brownies!
Easy Mounds Brownies
1 brownie mix (9×13 size)…mixed and baked according to box directions
5 cups shredded coconut…
1 can sweetened condensed milkIn a bowl mix, the coconut and sweetened condensed milk together while the brownies are baking. The second the brownies come out of the oven, spread the coconut/milk mixture over the hot brownies.
For the Chocolate Topping
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or bittersweet)
1/4 cup canned evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugarMeasure everything except the powdered sugar into a glass bowl.
Stick it in the microwave and heat it for 30 seconds, remove, stir, put it back into the microwave for 15-20 seconds, remove, stir.
If it’s smooth add the powdered sugar and stir until very smooth.
If the chocolate still has unmelted chocolate chips, return it to the microwave for another 15 seconds.Pour over the brownies topped with coconut mixture. Spread to seal edges.
If you’re lazy you can use a storebought can of chocolate frosting, heat in the microwave for 20 seconds, stir and pour. If you want to make these almond joy brownies, spread 1 cup of coarsely chopped almonds over the coconut layer before pouring the chocolate layer on top.
