Driving a beater does not necessarily mean lots of repairs and being stuck on the side of the road as some have suggested.

For the last year I have been driving a 20 year old ( 1988) chevrolet pickup truck. No break downs and no repairs.

At one time, I would not have being happy driving something like that. Partly because of pride &image. Today I am thrilled to have a way to go that does not throw me back into debt .
