This is a very good recipe, and I’m actually making it today. It does make a
full pot of sloppy joe’s, so I do suggest if you aren’t feeding a large family
to just cut the recipe in half. This also freeze’s real nice, and can be made
for meals later when your busy and need a few quick meals if put in smaller
containers for freezing.
I have so many great slowcooker recipes, but had to
pass this one along since I’m making it today. Donna,Pa.
Crock Pot Sloppy Joes
3 lbs ground chuck
1 c onion, chopped
1 c celery diced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove minced
2 T Worcestershire sauce
1 c catsup
3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed
1/2 t paprika
1/4 t pepper
1 can tomato paste, 6 oz.
1 1/4 c water
3 T vinegar
3 t brown sugar
1 t dry mustard
Brown the first 5 ingredients together and drain off fat. Combine all
ingredients in the crock pot, stirring well. Cover and cook on low 6-8
hours; or high 3-4 hours.
Serve on buns or over noodles.
