Crockpot Applesauce BBQ Chicken is very inexpensive and simple to make, serve it over freshly steamed white rice or with a salad for a complete meal. This also goes really well with scalloped potates!!
In a Crockpot, Dump the Following ingredients in the order given:
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
1/2 tsp ground pepper
2/3 cup chunky applesauce
2/3 cup BBQ sauce (any kind your family likes)
2 T brown sugar
1 t chili powder
Stir it all up with a spoon.
Cook on low about 6 hours.
If you want to make your own Make-Ahead OAMC (Once a Month Cooking) fill the freezer meal- combine the ingredients in a Gallon sized Ziplock bag or in a Vacuum Seal/ Food Saver Bag.
(the time might vary according to your brand of slow-cooker, some cook at slightly higher temps, so be aware of how long it normally takes for your cooker to work to avoid under or over-cooking your food!!)
Always spray your crockpot with non-stick spray before starting out to make clean up easier or line it with Crockpot liners.
