Last week I had a call from Discover card at 9:30 at night…wasn’t too
happy until the woman asked me if I had authorized charges for $975 on
my card for nofear.com. I said no way…she stated that the fraud unit
software picked up the charges as I do not use my card and wanted to
verify the info. They cancelled my card and issued a new one. She
explained that these fraud rings will simply put in a series of numbers
until they get a hit and try to charge items. I keep my cards at home
in special place and never carry it. They will probably not be able to
identify the person/group but thankfully caught the item. It is a good
idea to double check any statements you get.
