      Thanks, Hyberkids. I guess my idea of telling them I

      had cancer and want some help isn’t a good one. I

      think it’s possible I may qualify for a better card or

      rate in spite of the cancer.

      << you can call and ask if there's a card through the company that you qualify for with lower interest. most often, if your credit has improved since signing up with the card company, they will be able to offer you either a new interest rate on an existing card, or a new card with a lower interest rate (which you can transfer balance to). beware, though, that if your credit rating has stayed the same, or gotten worse, or if you are often late with payments, they won’t offer you the option. >>
