      Hi Tressa,

I live in Pennsylvania and travel to Delaware to purchase alot of tax free items. No you don’t have to pay sales tax, it goes by the state you purchase it in, not where you live.

      Subject: Budget101.com : costco question

I am curious…I live in Washington state that has a large sales tax. Almost 9%. My boyfriend..(soon to be fiance/then husband after this..LOL) and I found a ring I really want at costco. He has saved up enough money and we figured it would also be several hundred just in sales tax. We have a gold costco card so we will get 2% back at the end of the year….but I figured we could go to Oregon and buy it at their costco since there is no sales tax. Now since we are using our costco card that says we live in Washington etc…are we going to have to pay the sales tax? I just want to make sure we wont have to pay it if we drive the 3 hours each way to the closest costco in Oregon(even with gas etc we will still save Hundreds$$). We will be paying cash but we still have record because of how costco has membership cards…
      Thank you,
      Tressa
