I was just looking at the cake mix recipes that are here on the site. the basic cake recipe has a number “6” With nothing near it. Is it there by mistake or is something missing???
Basic Cake Mix
Compliments of Budget101.com – complete resource for digging yourself out of debt Your #1 Penny-Pinching Resource on the web!8 c. plain flour
6 c. sugar
1/4 c. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. CriscoBlend all ingredients until the consistency of corn meal.
Put in cool place in airtight container. Label. Use in 10-12 weeks. Makes 16 cups.Beat until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees until done. (9×13 pan approx 30-35 minutes)

I have no idea what the 6 means, however I do know about the recipe. I just happened to remember last weekend that I had recieved (months ago) a booke from Reders Digest called Homemade ~ How to make Hundreds of Everyday Products you would otherwise buy.

I still don’t see an answer to this question.
I have printed the recipe and searched the site but no reprint of this recipe is available and no correction was made.Any ideas on how much cake mix to use for a cake?
I am going to try 2 C. but who knows. -
